WHO WE ARE
BrookesBUDS (Brazil Urban Design Study) is an extra-curricular activity for students from the Schools of the Built Environment and Architecture from Oxford Brookes University. It focuses on fostering cross-cultural, real-life experiences of urban design for students from Brookes and from partner universities in Brazil.

We have been working in partnership with universities and local communities in Brazil since 2013 and we are keen to maintain this important international link to help share knowledge and experiences and improve learning between the two countries.

Brookes BUDS 2019 will work in partnership with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro to develop urban design guidance for large scale social housing in Brazil to ensure that not only housing numbers are met but that they also deliver good places for people.
Any generous donations and contributions to our project will be extremely appreciated and will go a long way in funding further research into urban design principles and improving quality of life.
