The Project

This project was to develop a residential-led mixed-use masterplan for Haringey Borough Council, in order to kickstart the regeneration of Northumberland Park area based on resident feedback; strategic council policies; and planning and financial feasibility.

The Site

Duke’s Aldridge Academy is located in Northumberland Park to the north of Tottenham Hotspurs Football Club in the North of Tottenham. The DAA site is currently accommodating Duke's Aldridge Academy formerly Northumberland Park Community School.

DAA is a mixed secondary community school administered by Haringey London Borough Council.

The Process

The process started with an in-depth site analysis, as we analysed different factors which can affect the design of the site, such as, green and blue infrastructure, mobility, the community profile, are the surrounding building types and uses. The information gathered then was used to form responses which can be applied to the design.

Following a comprehensive analysis of case studies, six major design principles were created to be the six key design features of the design. The design went through a financial review, as well as many tests to make sure it was well designed, such as sunlight analysis and appraising the connectivity of the site. The final design was presented and critique by the lecturers and the client. A design and access statement were created to show the work of the project which can be found below.
