When designing the site we always had our five design actions in mind, as then we could make sure we achieved to do them.

 

We wanted to make the design of the site as permeable as possible so people can move around the site easily and without having to use personal transport such as cars, that's why the site is predominately pedestrian and bike only.

 

The site is split in half in term of building use with the eastern half predominately residential with commercial space on the ground floor. Whilst the western side of the site is where the new attraction, the Biodome, and offices and labs to help create a new biotechnology hub in London.

 

We feel that this design will help us to achieve our vision of creating a place which increases London's competitiveness as a global city and attracts investment into the area.
